Setting up Microsoft Outlook Express to check your email.

Click on the icon for Outlook Express usually located on your desktop.
The main screen will appear.

Click on' tools' then 'accounts'.

After the accounts window comes up select the mail tab, then click the add button and select mail. You are going to add a new mail account to Outlook.

At the first screen of the connection wizard you are prompted for the name you wish to be sent with your email, as in "Kane Gledhill" <kane@webfarm.co.nz>, notice this isn't your email address, just the name. Click next after you have entered the information..

This screen on the connection wizard is where you enter your e-mail address. You have to choose an address that you want to use, eg info, or your name @yourname.co.nz, this is usually the address you will print on your business cards, this is the address you will send your mail from. After you have done so click next to continue.

At this screen you are prompted to enter the POP3 and SMTP servers, this is where you will check your mail from, it is also where your email gets sent from.
Enter "mail.yourdomain.com" in the incoming mail server box and in the outgoing mail server box use the same info. as you used in your regular ISP email outgoing mail server - then click next to continue.

On this screen you need to enter your username and password, these were sent to you when you ordered your account. Enter both the username and password for your account. Note you might want to tick the "Save Password" box, this saves you from having to enter your password each time you check your mail. Do not check SPA box below.

OK, you are almost done, click finish

.You will be prompted by the screen below, where, as you can see the account that you just added is displayed. Select the account you just created (highlight it) and click "Properties"

Select the servers tab at the top to display the window above, you need to check
"My server requires Authentication", click apply and then OK.

OK, it's time to test your email, create a new message and send it to yourself, then locate the "Send and Receive" button and click it, your message will be sent, at the same time it should download any other new messages waiting on the server, these will be downloaded into your inbox.
